Choosing the right games for a children’s gaming bus or vr party isn’t always straightforward. Ages, confidence levels, group dynamics and personal preferences all play a part — and what works brilliantly for one group may not be right for another.
At Gamewagon, we take age-appropriate gaming seriously. It’s a key part of how we run safe, enjoyable, and well-managed gaming parties, and it underpins the decisions our Games Managers make during every event.
This page explains how we think about age suitability in practice, and what parents can expect.
While age ratings are important, they’re not the only factor we consider when running a party.
In real-world party settings, things like the following matter just as much:
Our aim is always to keep everyone involved, comfortable, and enjoying themselves — not just the most confident or vocal players.
PEGI (Pan European Game Information) ratings provide guidance on the suitability of games based on content. We use PEGI ratings as a baseline reference when selecting and running games.
However, party environments are different from solo play at home. Games are played in groups, watched by others, and influenced by peer dynamics. Because of this, we take a conservative approach when it comes to younger age groups.
If parents have preferences or restrictions, we’re always happy to accommodate them — just let us know when booking.
Our gaming parties are designed primarily for children aged 7 and above.
As a general guide:
We operate clear capacity limits for each age range to ensure proper supervision and a positive experience for everyone.
It’s common for parties to include children of slightly different ages. Our Games Managers manage this carefully by:
Younger siblings are welcome to step inside the Gamewagon briefly only if accompanied by a parent or responsible adult, and they are not counted as part of the party group.
Fortnite is sometimes requested for parties, particularly by older children. While it is not a core part of our standard party setup, we understand that it is popular and may be important to some groups.
For parties involving children under 12, we will only run Fortnite under the following conditions:
We approach Fortnite cautiously because of its online nature, pace, and competitive dynamics in group settings.
If you’re unsure whether Fortnite is right for your party, we’re always happy to talk it through and suggest alternatives that work better for mixed or younger groups.
All parties are run by a trained Games Manager who is present throughout the event.
Their role includes:
If a game isn’t working well for the group, it will be changed. Our priority is always the experience of the whole group, not a single title.
If you have any questions or concerns about age suitability, game choices, or specific children attending the party, please let us know when booking.
We’d much rather have a conversation in advance than make assumptions on the day.
